[SHENZHEN] - Weekend staycation at Marco Polo Shenzhen

Longing for a weekend staycation in our neighbouring cities? Except the popular choice of Macau, Shenzhen is also a charming alternative. Last week, I spent a wonderful time with the Marco Polo Shenzhen.
This 40-story building has a total of 391 well-appointed rooms and suites. Needless to say, there is complimentary broadband access for all guests.

This time, I'm honoured to get to stay at the Deluxe Suite, which is on the Executive floor and with spectacular city views.

Upon my arrival, there is a welcome fruits platter. We also have access to the Club Lounge where we can enjoy complimentary afternoon tea, happy hour and buffet breakfast in the next morning. There is free pressing for 2 pieces of clothing per day, and with advance reservation guests can make use of the Continental Club Boardroom for 2 hours per day if necessary.
The room is extremely spacious. The bed is large and the mattress and pillows are soft and very comfortable.
There is a guest washroom and a luxurious bathroom with basically everything you need. The bathtub is sizeable and it is perfect to enjoy a nice hot bath before going to bed. There are both LCD televisions in both the living room and bedroom, it is particularly comfy to watch TV while lying in bed.
What's more, there is also a working area with a nice desk and abundant daylight.

Fancy a few drinks before dinner? The happy hour at the Club Floor Lounge was something you need! The lounge is commodious and well-stocked with all kinds of beverages and finger food. The ambience is serene and indulging.

You can enjoy cocktails, wine and snacks with a beautiful sunset view. There are desserts, cold plates, cheese platter as well as thermal appetisers.

The view here was absolutely breathtaking - it is one of the best ways to pamper yourself after a long working week.

For dinner, we enjoyed a great buffet feast at Café Marco on the 1/F.

Serving a fusion of “Euro-Asian-Chinese” cuisine, as well as fresh seafood and imported steaks, you can never run out of ideas about what to eat!

You cannot miss the grilled seafood, the scallops and lobsters were so delicious!

The buffet dinner is a definite satisfaction for both my body and soul.
Marco Polo Shenzhen balances the needs of business and leisure travellers. It offers a wide range of business services at the Business Centre as well as a range of recreation facilities including an outdoor swimming pool, fully equipped Gym, relaxing spa treatments and Hair Salon.

The swimming pool locates at an outdoor area on the 4/F. The weather was so fine that we could enjoy soaking in the sunlight a bit. The pool time is so relaxing.

The Spa Centre is full of Chinese elements. It offers a range of treatments from head to toe, including some special treatments for ladies. The price is reasonable, and guests enjoy extra 10% discount. It was a great way to unwind myself with a 60-min aromatherapy massage.
The next morning we have a lovely breakfast at the 40/F lounge again. Despite a bit of typhoon, the meal was a pleasant and refreshing one.
If you visit Shenzhen for business and/or leisure I highly recommend you staying at Marco Polo Shenzhen. It locates in the heart of the Futian District, the city’s Central Business District. You can easily visit the shopping mall Coco Park in walking distance. It is a true luxury hotel offering all-rounded services. I enjoyed my stay and I’m sure you will as well.
