[PHILADELPHIA] - Sofitel Philadelphia: Overviewing the magnificent skyline

This Sofitel branch locates at the heart of the City of Brotherly Love. It is right next to the famous Rittenhouse Square, which is the city’s principal business and shopping centre. In a city that celebrates art, Sofitel Philadelphia has created a gallery within the lobby to showcase exhibits curated by G&O Arts, with offices in New York and Paris.

Inside the Luxury King Room which I'm staying, you can experience the perfect blend of French elegance and American style. The paintings in the room are very modern and artistic. Besides, I really like the working section. I don't mind to work on this article a little bit in such a cozy environment! 

What's more fascinating, however, is the view from the window. You can catch the perfect skyline view and the lovely sunset from here. 

Room facilities are impressive. You can choose to take a relaxing hot bath or an easy shower. 

The Lanvin products all smell so nice with rich notes of orange ambre and contain no parabens, phthalates and
artificial colour. 

Chez Colette restaurant 

Chez Colette restaurant is a casually elegant restaurant with the design that is is reminiscent of and beckons patrons to 1930s south of France. There is a bar where you can enjoy a glass or two and watch the server mixing your drink before your eyes. The bar is well stocked as well, it's not difficult to find yourself the perfect glass of drink.

This fresh bread basket before meal is a delightful treat. It was warm and fresh. 

Braised Short Ribs USD$24

The braised short ribs are served with carrots, caramelized onion pavé, arugula, watermelon-radish. All these ingredients work together to create different layers of flavour. The short ribs are so tender and properly seasoned.The ribs fell apart and the sauce was just delicious over the creamy mashed potato, it is heavenly!

Another dish we went for is the typical French dish - Crispy Duck Confit. The braised short ribs are served with carrots, caramelized onion pavé, arugula, watermelon-radish. Another dish we went for is the typical French dish - Crispy Duck Confit. Served with Philly pretzel, mushroom, duck pain perdu, shaved carrot, frisée, truffle in port reduction sauce, the skin of the duck confit is very crispy and oil-free. The meat is soft and succulent inside. Absolutely delicious!

Not far from Sofitel is the best spot to overview the city of Philadelphia - the One Liberty Observation Deck.

Up on the 57th floor of one of the tallest building in town, you can enjoy a 360° VIEW of Philly with a number of iconic sights
such as City Hall, the Ben Franklin Parkway, the Ben Franklin Bridge, the stadium complex, University City and many more. 

I came here for the romantic night view and I was lucky enough to catch the last moments of dusk. It's a great way to get a bird's 

eye view of the city and the experience was wonderful. Another fun thing to do is that you can get to know more about the history 

of Philadelphia neighborhoods and receive detailed information on the major landmarks while zooming in and scanning the city on

the multi-lingual touch screens here.
